GAM NIGHT 2012
"Gay association of Manapla (GAM) is consist of extra-ordinary homegrown talents of Manapla,and most of the members belongs to 3rd sex gender or gays/lesbians."
March 24 2012, the People of Manapla were again shocked by another amazing show lend by the association.it was held at the municipality gym of Manapla near the plaza.
After several stressful nights of intensive preparations and bottomless laughter during meetings, and boisterous voices at the gym, Another solid and incomparable ,successful show left an impact to the citizens of Manapla.
A night full of laughter and entertainment all served by GAM , with their very exceptional talents they were able to amuse the audience, through giving a show that's free and unforgettable. the show did really left an impact to the people.leaving the audience,almost cry in awe and laugh at the same time.
In amazement, people were all cheering and yelling, especially when all sexy ladies and hunky models walked down the runway wearing all extravagant and sophisticated outfits and lingerie designed by top designers and make-up artists in manapla.
On the first part of the show, it was started by fire burning dance prod. by Manapla Cultural Dancers and had 'Bandoy Co'(one of the designers and make-up artist) in a "showgirl" inspired dance.
and the number, was then followed by a song number, by the 3 promising singing talents of Manpla, 'jun' 'jerone' and '16', as they sang their hearts out for the audience, singing the all time favorite love songs of all time from 80's to 90's.
"Laughtime", was next, then i started watching the audience going crazy while cheering and laughing at the performers, who were the young gay members of the association.with their, bone-breaking exhibitions, lip-synch.and mimicking whitney huoston's songs while passing the microphone.
and the first part was ended by another 3 performances, lip-synch by Bandoy co, trio divas and a phantom of opera song while fire dancing of Jeron Olvido.
And the most awaited part of the show has come, the modeling of different categories of 5 talented designers in a Glamorous Fashion Show.
showing all fashion collection of the top make-up artist and designers, ramp models wore those collection.
**Bandoy Co's "end of the world" themed costumes was first modeled.
followed by Ian sumagaysay's Anime inspired costumes modeled by participative cute kids.
next was Vea Vadiz's playboy inspired lingerie in 4 hot colors, and Jobel Cadiz (his sister) was the finally/finalee.
and followed by Fresh trend from Tata Ortega and Yurica's closets was dug and showed 2012 fashion style is about. all in vintage and summer inspired outfits.
And for the finalee, it's the body painting. i like it because the creation was so original and all was perfectly made.and I've really seen the effort exerted on it , like , the artists started doing the job early noon to 6pm , so imagine how hard was it doing the painting.and i was touched by the intention of these artists , cause they said that it was intentionally made to inspire and convince the people, of how important nature is to us.
and they also quoted that "we should be aware in the conservation of natural resources." and i personally agree with their advocacy. these painting were all done by highschool students of Manapla National High-school who are advised by Ping Minada who's one of the in demand artist in the place.
and i got the chance to interview her,after the show. so here are some of the questions i asked her and see how she really cares for the push of preserving and loving the nature and how she expresses her emotion through her works.
Ping: It's nature it self. because nowadays only few people stands for our Environment , so in my little way , I'm trying to inspire people and let them be involved in such things like i do.
Me: How do you give importance to nature?
Ping: Expressing my concern to nature through my paintings and some art works shows how i really care and give importance to nature . And i also participate in some activities that helps preserving mother nature such as participating in clean-up drives , coastal protection , and tree plantings.
"I AM PROUD THAT I AM AN ENVIRONMENTALIST, CAUSE I LOVE NATURE THROUGH EXPRESSIONISM.AND I KNOW I AM AWARE OF THE CAUSE AND EFFECTS OF HUMAN CARELESSNESS." -PING MINADA
